L’Ostal d’Occitania
L’Ostal, occitan culture center
In the center of Toulouse lies l’Ostal d’Occitania (Maison de l’Occitanie), a cultural center for the Occitan language and culture. Open to public (exhibitions, conferences, shows, concerts, screenings, restaurant …) l’Ostal is a place of diffusion (shop, bookstore and Occitan radio), of training program (language classes, music and singing) and an associative workplace (association headquarters, premises…).
Convergencia
Since 2006, l’Ostal d’Occitania is occupied by the association Convergéncia Occitana. The association runs and manage this historical place.
One of its goal is to determine and promote an authentic cultural, linguistic, patrimonial and historical policy for Toulouse and Occitania. Convergéncia Occitana is a federation of nearly 90 associations working to defend the occitan language and culture, but also other endangered entities.
Convergéncia Occitana carries out a lobby activity for the promotion of the occitan language and culture.
